Bruins Continue Pac-10 Play in the Bay Area
The fourth-ranked UCLA women's soccer team (14-1-1; 4-0-1 Pac-10) faces one of its toughest road trips of the season this week, traveling to the Bay Area for matches against No. 9 Cal (11-2-2; 4-0-1) and No. 17 Stanford (8-5-2; 2-2-1). The Bruins begin the weekend against the Golden Bears in Berkeley on Friday at 3:30 p.m. in a match that could very well decide this year's Pac-10 champion, as both teams enter the match tied for first place in the conference with identical 4-0-1 records. Friday's winner controls its own destiny in the race for the Pac-10 title. On Sunday, UCLA heads to Stanford for a 1:00 p.m. meeting with the Cardinal. The Bruins took a narrow 1-0 victory last season at Drake Stadium. Should the Bruins win this year's Pac-10 title, it would be their third in a row.

Bruins' Unbeaten Streak Moves to 11
UCLA hosted the Washington schools last weekend, posting a 4-0 victory over winless Washington on Friday before playing to a 0-0 draw with Washington State on Sunday. Midfielder Danesha Adams had the most points on the weekend, recording a goal and an assist against the Huskies. Goalkeeper Valerie Henderson also moved her record to 12-1-1 on the year, while the Bruins picked up their 10th and 11th shutouts of the season. Although UCLA had its 10-match winning streak snapped against the Cougars, the Bruins remain unbeaten in their last 11 matches.

Bruins Remain at No. 4 Nationally
Despite its tie with Washington State on Sunday, the Bruins held the No. 4 spot this week in the four polls issued by NSCAA/adidas, Soccer America, Soccer Buzz and Soccer Times. Other than the tie, the only other blemish on UCLA's record on the season was a double-overtime loss to current No. 1 Penn State earlier in the year. The Bruins, who have been ranked in the top-six all season, began the year ranked No. 3 (NSCAA/adidas).

Arizona Match to be Televised by Fox Sports Net
UCLA's match with No. 25 Arizona on Nov. 4 will be televised on a tape-delayed basis by Fox Sports Net. The match is a battle between last year's Pac-10 co-champions. The Wildcats won last year's game in Tucson, 1-0. Fans should check their local listings for broadcast times in their area.

NCAA Tournament Just Around the Corner
With just four regular-season matches remaining, the Bruins are looking to finish the year strong to receive a high seeding in the NCAA Tournament which begins on Nov. 11. The 64-team NCAA Tournament draw will be released on Monday, Nov. 7 on ESPNews. The 2004 NCAA Runner-Up Bruins will likely be hosting early-round action at Drake Stadium.

Head Coach Jillian Ellis
Jillian Ellis is in her seventh season as head coach of the UCLA women's soccer team. The NSCAA/adidas National Coach of the Year in 2000, Ellis owns a 124-26-6 record at UCLA and is 143-44-6 overall, which includes two seasons at the University of Illinois. Ellis has guided the Bruins to the NCAA Tournament in each of her six seasons, highlighted by three trips to the NCAA College Cup. (2000, 2003 and 2004). Her 2000 and 2004 squads reached the national championship games.
