WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA senior forward Iris Mora and sophomore midfielder Danesha Adams have been honored by the Pac-10 and Soccer America respectively, following outstanding performances in a pair of Bruin victories over the weekend.
Mora, from Cancun, Mexico, was named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 13- Sept. 19 after breaking the UCLA record for career assists when she registered the 28th of her career in a 4-0 victory over Saint Mary's on Sunday. She also had two goals in that game, including one just 18 seconds into the match. Against fourth-ranked Santa Clara on Friday, Mora assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Bruins a 2-1 upset win.
Adams, from Shaker Heights, Ohio, was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week after scoring both goals in UCLA's upset of No. 3 Santa Clara. Her golden goal in overtime gave the Bruins their second victory in as many years against the Broncos. She came back on Sunday to register another goal and an assist in UCLA's 4-0 decision over St. Mary's.
