Final Stats

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's volleyball team dropped a Pac-10 match in Pauley Pavilion on Friday night, falling to sixth-ranked Stanford with game scores of 30-25, 30-27, 30-22. Brittany Ringel and Heather Cullen had double-figure kills in the match with 12 and 10, respectively, while senior Lauren Fendrick recorded her 1,000th career dig, with a match-high 17 on the evening. UCLA falls to 12-10 (5-7 Pac-10) with the loss, while Stanford improves to 20-3 (10-2).

The Bruins out-dug Stanford by a 73-59 margin, but were out-blocked 13-7, and were able to connect for just a .095 team attack percentage. Ringel recorded six of her team-high 12 kills in the opening game of the match, while Cullen was hot in the second two games, downing four kills on a .571 attack percentage in game two, and six kills on 10 swings in game three. Three Bruins had double-figure digs, led by Fendrick with 17, while Krystal McFarland and Chrissie Zartman had 14 digs apiece.

In game one, UCLA kept it close, tying Stanford as late as 18-18 before a four-point run put the Cardinal in front for good. The story was very similar in the second game, as the teams were tied at 19-all before Stanford took the lead in the game, and a 2-0 lead to the locker room for the break.

The Bruins had 15 kills in the final game of the match, but also suffered 12 hitting errors, resulting in a .057 team attack percentage in the game. Cullen, however, hit .500 in the game, with six kills on 10 swings with one error.

UCLA returns to action on Saturday night, November 2, with a 7 pm match in Pauley Pavilion against Cal. The match will be broadcast live on www.uclabruins.com.
