EUGENE, Ore. - Frederick Jones scored 26 points and Chris Christoffersen added a career-high 15 rebounds as Oregon routed No. 13 UCLA 91-62 Thursday night, the Ducks' biggest win ever over the Bruins.

Oregon (16-5, 8-2 Pac-10) stayed in a first-place tie in the conference with Southern California, which also won Thursday.

Reserve T.J. Cummings had 15 points to lead UCLA (14-6, 6-4), which has lost three of four, while Billy Knight added 14.

The Bruins entered the game with a 71-18 advantage over Oregon in the all-time series. The only time UCLA had ever really blown out the Ducks was on Dec. 12, 1936, the first meeting between the teams, when Oregon won 56-30.

The Ducks shot 57 percent, but the main reason for the victory was Christoffersen, the team's 7-foot-2 center from Denmark. He badly outplayed UCLA's 6-11 Dan Gadzuric. Christoffersen had 14 points, while Gadzuric was held to eight.

The Bruins shot 42 percent, including 1-of-14 from 3-point range. UCLA had been averaging better than seven 3-pointers per game in conference play.

UCLA trailed 47-28 at halftime and needed a strong start to the second half to get back in it. The Ducks made sure it didn't happen by shooting 9-of-12 over the first 6:24. Luke Jackson, held to just three points at halftime, made two 3-pointers, and Anthony Lever's 3 made it 69-34.

UCLA went on a 12-0 run to cut the deficit to 23, but Oregon responded with four straight inside baskets.

The Ducks entered the game as the top-scoring team in the Pac-10 at 85.8 points per game, and UCLA simply couldn't match their speed. Oregon turned several long misses into easy baskets or open jumpers, and got to the free throw line 16 times, making 12. UCLA didn't get to the line until 11 minutes in, and was just 2-of-6 for the half.

Oregon made 11 of its first 16 shots, and a 3-pointer by Luke Ridnour put his team ahead 28-12. Gadzuric picked up his second foul with just under seven minutes remaining in the half and went to the bench.

The Ducks kept up the energy, and Jones provided much of it. He drove to the basket and dropped a fantastic one-handed dunk over Andre Patterson to make it 41-20. A tip-in by Robert Johnson gave the Ducks a 46-22 lead.

Only a mild cold spell by Oregon allowed the Bruins to get within 19 at halftime.
