Swimming and Diving falls to Arizona

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's swimming and diving team fell to Arizona on Saturday afternoon at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center by a score of 160-140. UCLA won five events on the afternoon, including double-event wins by Sara Platzer (50, 100 freestyle) and Regan Gosnell (1-meter and 3-meter diving).

UCLA's individual event wins came in the 50 Free with Sara Platzer turning in a time of 23.59; 3-meter diving with Regan Gosnell's 301.88; Platzer in the 100 Free with a 50.89; and Gosnell winning the 1-meter diving with a score of 265.42.

The Bruins also won the 200 Free Relay when the team of Platzer, Kim Vandenberg, Malin Svahnstrom and Erica Shugart turned in a time of 1:33.93.

The Bruin swimmers return to action during the first weekend in December when they compete at the Auburn Invitational. UCLA's divers return to action at the UC Irvine Diving Invitational in early January.
