Westwood, CA - Five former Bruins joined the 1999 varsity squad in the Wooden Center on Sunday afternoon, a program that featured two best-of-three matches.
The day started with an intrasquad scrimmage. UCLA Blue came out of the gate quickly, with sophomore setter Erika Selsor directing the squad to a 15-6 Game 1 victory. The score was reversed in the second game, with UCLA White team members junior middle blocker Elisabeth Bachman and sophomore outside hitter Kristee Porter working towards their match-high totals of five blocks and 14 kills, respectively.
In the decisive third game, the score was tight throughout, with neither team taking more than a one-point advantage until UCLA White scored to win 16-14. Sophomore setter Jackie Levin directed the UCLA White offense in its winning attack.
All three Bruin freshmen, Stacy Millichap, Ella Harley and Lauren Fendrick, saw significant time during the scrimmage. Millichap contributed six digs as a back-row player, while Fendrick accumulated seven kills and four digs for Asst. Coach Burt Fuller's White squad, and Harley saw time on the outside for UCLA Blue, directed by Asst. Coach Kim Jagd.
