LOS ANGELES - Four UCLA women's tennis players and one doubles team have received at-large selections to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships, which is scheduled to take place from May 23-28 at Stanford University.
Representing UCLA in the 64-player singles draw will be Laura Gordon, Tracy Lin, Riza Zalameda and Alex McGoodwin. It will mark the first-ever appearance in the tournament for Gordon, Lin and McGoodwin. Zalameda was a singles semifinalist at last year's championships in Athens, Ga.
Gordon and Zalameda have also been selected to compete in the 32-team doubles draw.
First off for UCLA, however, will be the NCAA Team Championships, which begins next week at college campuses throughout the country. The Bruins are scheduled to face San Diego State in the first round at Pepperdine on May 12. The round of 16 begins on May 18 in Stanford, Calif.
