Recap |  Final Stats |  Quotes

  • UCLA now leads the series against Arizona 18-9-2 and has won the past four meetings.
  • Chris Horton's punt block in the first quarter marked the second blocked punt of the year for UCLA. The first came at the hands of Benjamin Lorier against Illinois.
  • The ensuing safety was the first for UCLA since Asi Faoa blocked a punt out of the endzone against Fresno State on Dec. 30, 2003.
  • Bruin fullback Michael Pitre scored his first career touchdown on a 28-yard pass from Drew Olsen in the first quarter to put UCLA on top 9-0.
  • Chris Kluwe's 61 yard punt in the first quarter was the second longest of his career. His career long of 66 yards came in 2003.
  • With his three touchdown catches, Marcedes Lewis set a new career high for touchdowns in a game and now has four this season. (That last Bruin receiver with three touchdown catches in a game was Craig Bragg against Oregon in 2002.)
  • Lewis' six total catches brings his season total to 15, a team high. The single game catch total is also a career high for the junior tight end. His previous high of six was set in 2003 against Colorado.
  • Drew Olsen's four touchdown passes is a new career high. His previous high of three was set earlier this season at Illinois.
  • UCLA's 20-point halftime lead was the largest since the Bruins went into the break ahead 33-7 against San Diego State on September 28, 2002.
  • UCLA has scored 30 or more points in four consecutive games for the first time since it did it in six straight contests spanning the 1998 and 1999 seasons. The Bruins tallied a minimum of 30 points in the final five games in 1998 and in the first game in 1999. UCLA's school record for most consecutive games with over 30 points is seven, set in 1987.
  • Freshman Chris Markey's third-quarter kick-off return of 35 yards was the longest of his career and longest by any Bruin this year.
  • True freshmen Marcus Everett and Chris Markey both set new season highs today - Everett with his four receptions and Markey with his 32 total yards rushing. Markey also scored his first career touchdown in the fourth quarter.
