Marinova/Walker Advance at Riviera

Los Angeles - The UCLA doubles tandem of Petya Marinova and Sara Walker defeated Loyola Marymount's Holly Freudenberg and Edit Pakay 6-0, 6-1 Sunday, winning their third-round match at the Riviera All-American Championships pre-qualifying tournament. The victory earns the duo a spot in the qualifying portion of the draw beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 19.

The Bruins didn't have anyone qualify in singles as Elizabeth Schmidt lost her second-round match to Pakay 7-6(4), 1-6, 6-3 and Marinova fell in the first round 6-0, 7-6(4) to Mily Kanarkat of Old Dominion. In addition, Catherine Hawley won first and second round matches before falling to Pepperdine's Monika Horvath 6-2, 6-4.
