Twelve offensive and defensive linemen highlight the list of 21 high school standouts who have signed letters-of-intent to play football at UCLA. In addition, junior college transfer Nick Ekbatani is already enrolled at UCLA and will participate in Winter Practice later this month.

"This is an outstanding recruiting class," said head coach Karl Dorrell. "Our primary areas of emphasis were the offensive and defensive lines. Early on, we identified top prospects in both areas and were aggressive in our pursuit of them.

"In addition, we also filled some other important needs, signing athletic skill players on both sides of the football, including running back, wide receiver and defensive back. I am confident that the members of this class will make a major contribution to our successes over the next few years."

Of the 21 signees, 16 are from California, two from Hawaii and one each from Louisiana, Alabama and Nevada.

The new Bruin offensive linemen include Brandon Bennett, Jake Dean, Micah Kia, Sean Sheller and Sonny Tevaga. The defensive linemen are David Carter, Jeff Miller, Dylan Rush, Darius Savage, Jerzy Siewierski and Reggie Stokes. In addition, Andy Keane was signed as an offensive and defensive lineman.

Wide receiver Terrence Austin, rated the No. 7 player at his position; kicker Kai Forbath, ranked No. 1 nationally; running back Chane Moline, ranked No. 4 among fullbacks; and athletes Jeremy McGee, Christian Ramirez and Al Verner highlight the list of skill performers.

Eight signees (Austin, Forbath, Kia, Miller, Moline, Savage, Sheller and Siewierski) were named to the SuperPrep All-America team.

Twelve new Bruins were ranked among the Top 25 players at their positions by rivals.com - Austin, Dean, Forbath, Keane, Kia, McGee, Miller, Moline, Sheller, Siewierski, Tevaga and Umodu.

UCLA has 14 players in the scout.com Western 100 (Austin, Carter, Dean, Johnson, Keane, Kia, Miller, Moline, Ramirez, Savage, Sheller, Tevaga, Umodu, Verner), including seven of the Top 40. Thirteen (Austin, Bennett, Carter, Deane, Keane, Miller, Moline, Ramirez, Savage, Sheller, Tevaga, Umodu and Verner) of the 16 signees from California are ranked among the state's Top 100 players by rivals.com.
