UCLA senior libero Chrissie Zartman and senior setter Krystal McFarland have been named to the All-Pacific Region Team, it was announced today. Zartman earned first-team honors for the second time in her UCLA career. McFarland was named to the Honorable Mention team, her first career All-Region honor. Both players will now be considered for AVCA All-America honors.
On Saturday night against Long Beach State, Zartman became the 10th player in NCAA Division I history to record over 2,000 career kills. She already holds UCLA and Pac-10 records for digs in a career (2,005) and in a season (649). McFarland currently stands in fourth place on UCLA's all-time career assists list.
The Bruins (20-10) will play their next match on Friday night, December 10, at 5 pm against second-seeded Penn State in an NCAA Regional Semifinal match. UCLA is seeded 15th in the tournament. The match will be broadcast live on www.uclabruins.com.
