University Park, Pa. - After falling in its season-opener two days ago, the top-ranked UCLA women's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2006 season Sunday afternoon, posting a 3-0 victory over Maryland at the Penn State Invitational. The Bruins, who fell to No. 3 Penn State, 3-1 on Friday evening, move to 1-1 on the year. Maryland, which defeated No. 10 Tennessee in its opener on Friday, falls to 1-1.
Freshman defender Lauren Wilmoth got things started for UCLA in the 34th minute, recording her first collegiate goal off a free kick.

Sophomore McCall Zerboni capped the scoring for the Bruins in the 82nd minute off a ball from Caitlyn Mac Kechnie.
Goalkeeper Ashley Thompson picked up her first career victory in goal Sunday, making one save in 90 minutes of action.
