Santi Hall Suspended for Violation of Team Rules
By: UCLA Athletics

April 5, 1999

LOS ANGELES - Sophomore defensive end Santi Hall has been suspended from the UCLA football team for violation of team rules, head coach Bob Toledo announced today. Hall will not participate in Spring Practice, which begins Tuesday afternoon on Spaulding Field, and his status will be reviewed prior to the conclusion of the school year.

Several other players will miss the four-week practice session for medical reasons. Senior cornerback Jason Bell had a bone spur removed from his right heel last month. Senior linebacker Ramogi Huma underwent surgery to remove a bone fragment from his left hip last week. Junior Micah Webb, who has been moved from defensive line to offensive guard, is rehabilitating from surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, injured at Miami. Senior fullback Mark Verti will not practice due to a neck injury and redshirt freshman Doug Whiting is sidelined following surgery to repair a lumbar spine stress fracture.

In addition, junior split end Brian Poli-Dixon (left wrist fracture) and redshirt freshman safety Lovell Houston (right shoulder surgery) will practice on a limited basis.
