PULLMAN, Wash. - UCLA's offense was firing on all cylinders on Friday night at Washington State as the Bruins swept the Cougars 30-20, 30-21, 30-19. With the win, UCLA improves to 10-6 (3-4 Pac-10) while Washington State falls to 8-12 (1-6 Pac-10). Four Bruins had double-figure kills in the match while UCLA hit .357 as a team.

The Bruins dominated throughout the match, taking the first game lead at 4-3 and never looking back. Game one featured a nine-point scoring run with Kaitlin Sather at the service line. Sather went back to serve with the Bruins leading 4-3 and the Cougars did not score again until the Bruins had a nine-point lead at 12-3. UCLA hit .359 as a team in the game while holding Washington State to a .067 attack percentage with eight kills and six errors.

Game two started with the teams trading points to the 6-6 mark before UCLA pulled away for good. The Bruins hit .425 in the game, downing 21 kills on 40 attacks with jut four errors, while Washington State hit .211. UCLA's lowest game attack percentage came in game three with a .273 mark, but the Bruins held the Cougars to -.026 in that game to finish the sweep.

UCLA had four players finishing the match with double-figure kills, led by Nana Meriwether with 14, Nancy Barba and Katie Carter with 11 apiece and Sather with 10 kills. Meriwether led the Bruins with 16 points in the match, followed with Sather who added three service aces and 12 digs for a 13-point performance in the match. Both of UCLA's middle blockers, Meriwether and Barba, hit .500 or higher in the match, while Carter checked in with a .375 attack percentage on 24 attacks.

The Bruins return to action on Friday night in Pauley Pavilion with a 7 pm match against Arizona, followed by a 7 pm Saturday contest against Arizona State, also in Pauley Pavilion.
