Bruins Hold Fan Appreciation Day at Drake Stadium

    Los Angeles - Hoping to get a preview of the 2001 UCLA football team, a number of fans turned out for Saturday's Fan Appreciation Day held at Drake Stadium.

    In the scrimmage, Bruin quarterback Cory Paus was 5-for-9 for 84 yards, including a 48-yard touchdown pass to Craig Bragg. True freshman running back Tyler Ebell was equally impressive, rushing for 99 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns. On defense, Spencer Havner, Jason Stephens and Kevin Brant all had interceptions.

    Following the scrimmage, fans were treated to an autograph session.

    The Bruins kickoff the 2001 season at Alabama on Sept. 1.
