Men's Soccer Team Picked To Finish Second In Pac-10

Walnut Creek, CA - The UCLA men's soccer team was narrowly edged out as the team to beat in the Pac-10, finishing second in the pre-season coaches' poll to defending league champion Washington.

The Bruins, which finished the 2000 season with a 12-7 record and advanced to the first round of the NCAA Tournament, earned two first-place votes, the same amount as Washington, but the Huskies totaled 22 overall points to UCLA's 21. Stanford, which finished third in the poll, yielded the other first-place vote. Oregon State and California round out the poll.

Following are the results of the pre-season coaches' poll (points 5-4-3-2-1), first place votes in parentheses.
