CORVALLIS, OR -- - The UCLA Bruins defeated Oregon State 2-0 in Pacific-10 women's soccer game Friday afternoon as the Bruins' Staci Duncan scored twice at Lorenz Field at Valley Stadium. The Bruins return to action on Sunday when they travel to Eugene to play the Oregon Ducks.
On Friday, UCLA (13-3-1, 5-1-1) managed both its goals - one in each half - off counterattacks against the Beavers.
Duncan's first goal came in the 35th minute. She gathered in a long downfield pass from Jessica Winton and dribbled down the center of the field, then shot past OSU goalkeeper Elizabeth Pease from 12 yards out.
The second goal was scored in the 61st minute. Duncan gained possession of the ball and dribbled in from the left wing, eventually shooting from 10 yards out and tucking the ball inside the far post.
