LOS ANGELES - Led by first-team selection Nandi Pryce, a total of three UCLA women's soccer players were named to National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region teams Thursday. UCLA's Jill Oakes (second team) and Whitney Jones (third team) were the other selections.

Pryce, a junior defender from Casselberry, Fla., started 21-of-22 matches this season, missing one match after being called up for training camp with the Full U.S. National Team. She helped the UCLA defense post 12 shutouts, while giving up just 13 goals all season. She was recently named one of 15 finalists for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy, given to the player of the year in college soccer.

Oakes, a freshman midfielder from West Hills, Calif., was one of only two freshmen to earn first-team All-Pac-10 honors this year. She played in 19 matches in 2002, missing the Bruins' season opener while helping the Under-19 U.S. National Team to the World Cup title in August. Ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the nation by Soccer America last year, Oakes finished the year with 10 points (3g, 4a).

Jones, a junior midfielder from San Clemente, Calif., started 21 of 22 matches in 2002, recording five points on a goal and three assists. Most recently, she scored in the Bruins' victory over LMU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. She was a first-team All-Pac-10 selection.
