Following a weekend sweep of Oregon and Oregon State, the Bruins return to Pauley Pavilion for a three-match homestand. Following a Tuesday evening matchup with local rival Pepperdine, the Bruins open the second half of conference play by hosting Arizona State on Friday night and Arizona on Saturday. At Friday night's match, the Bruins will recognize members of UCLA's 1974 and 1984 National Championship teams, celebrating 30th and 20th anniversaries, respectively.

Zartman Named Pac-10 Player of the Week
Senior libero Chrissie Zartman made history twice this week, once when she became the Pac-10's all-time leader in career digs during Friday's match at Oregon State, and again on Monday when she became the first libero ever to be named Pac-10 Player of the Week. Zartman now has 1,708 carer digs, surpassing the total of Katie Haller (1,702 from 1990-93 while at USC). Zartman has held the UCLA career record since early this season, and turned in two 20-dig matches in Oregon.

While in Oregon, the Bruins swept the Ducks on Thursday night in a televised match, but it was a costly win as senior setter Krystal McFarland suffered a right ankle sprain late in game three. Redshirt sophomore Tammy Jackson took over the controls at setter on Friday night at OSU and piloted the Bruins to their first five-game win of the 2004 season. In addition to Zartman's defensive prowess over the weekend, Brynn Murphy averaged 4.28 kills per game for the weekend, while Nana Meriwether continued to lead the Bruin block, recording four blocks at Oregon and eight at Oregon State.
