Bruins Continue Conference Play in Oregon
The fourth-ranked UCLA women's soccer team (11-1; 1-0 Pac-10) continues Pac-10 play this week, traveling to Oregon for a pair of matchups against Oregon (8-3-1; 0-2 Pac-10) and Oregon State (8-4; 1-1 Pac-10) this Friday and Sunday. The Bruins start the week in Eugene with a 5:00 p.m. Friday match against Oregon, a team they have won five in a row against, leading the all-time series 7-1. UCLA registered a lopsided 6-0 victory over the Ducks last year at Drake Stadium. The Bruins wrap up the weekend with Oregon State on Sunday at Noon. UCLA leads that series 8-2, having won the last three meetings.

Mora's Golden Goal Sinks USC, 3-2 in Pac-10 Opener
UCLA posted a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind victory over USC in the Pac-10 opener for both teams last Friday at Drake Stadium. After finding themselves down 2-0 at halftime, the Bruins rallied for a pair of second-half goals by Stacy Lindstrom and Jill Oakes. The match eventually went into overtime where forward Iris Mora tallied a golden goal at the 107:14 mark to give UCLA the 3-2 victory. The Bruins, who have now won six in a row over the Women of Troy, lead the all-time series 14-2-1. UCLA has never lost to USC at home, owning a perfect 10-0 record.

Bruins Check in at No. 4 in National Polls
The Bruins stayed at No. 4 in the four weekly polls issued by NSCAA/adidas, Soccer America, Soccer Buzz and Soccer Times. UCLA, which has been ranked in the top-6 all season, began the year ranked No. 3 (NSCAA/adidas) before losing to current No. 1 Penn State. The Bruins continue to be the highest ranked team in the Pac-10.

Mora Ties Duncan at No. 2
Iris Mora's golden goal against USC last week not only gave the Bruins a victory, it tied her for second place all-time on the UCLA career scoring charts. Mora and former Bruin Staci Duncan both have 88 career points, second only to Traci Arkenberg's 169. Mora's next goal or assist will give her sole possession of second place. Her 30 career assists already ranks No. 1, while her 29 career goals is good enough for sixth place.

Defensive Dominance
UCLA has given up just six goals in 12 matches this season, posting seven shutouts in the process. In fact, USC became the only team to score more than one goal against the Bruins this season in its 3-2 loss to UCLA last week. The Bruins rank 12th nationally with a 0.49 goals against average. Sophomore Valerie Henderson has picked up all 11 victories in the net, while UCLA's back line of Stacy Lindstrom, Jill Oakes, Mary Castelanelli and Erin Hardy has started all 12 matches.

Head Coach Jillian Ellis
Jillian Ellis is in her seventh season as head coach of the UCLA women's soccer team. The NSCAA/adidas National Coach of the Year in 2000, Ellis owns a 121-26-5 record at UCLA and is 140-44-5 overall, which includes two seasons at the University of Illinois. Ellis has guided the Bruins to the NCAA Tournament in each of her six seasons, highlighted by three trips to the NCAA College Cup. (2000, 2003 and 2004). Her 2000 and 2004 squads reached the national championship games.
