EUGENE, OR - The UCLA women's volleyball team improved to 15-10 (8-7 Pac-10) on Saturday night at McArthur Court, defeating Oregon 30-24,30-25, 28-30, 30-27. The Bruins had four players with double-figure kills in the match, led by senior Lauren Fendrick with 21. Oregon falls to 11-17, 1-13 Pac-10, with the loss.
The Bruins hit .340 as a team for the match, and were paced by sophomore outside hitter Heather Cullen, who had 14 kills with just one error on 21 total attacks for a .619 attack percentage on the night.
Three additional Bruins had double-figure kills, led by Fendrick with 21, Cira Wright with 18 and Brittany Ringel with 12. Three Bruins recorded double-figure digs in the match, paced by Pac-10 digs leader Chrissie Zartman with 22. Fendrick added 18 digs for a double-double, while setter KRystal McFarland contributed 14 digs in the match.
UCLA out-blocked the Ducks by a 9-7 margin and were led individually by freshman Nancy Barba, who had two solo and three assisted blocks in the match. Wright had one solo and three assisted blocks, while Brynn Murphy had four block assists against Oregon.
The Bruins return to Pauley Pavilion for a four-match homestand that begins on Tuesday night against Pepperdine. The match is scheduled for a 7 pm start and will be broadcast live on www.uclabruins.com
