The No. 15 UCLA women's soccer team won their second game of the season, defeating Cal Poly 1-0. The Mustangs dominated the first half, but the Bruins came back in the second to clinch the win. Sophomore forward Venus James scored UCLA's lone goal in the 52nd minute off an assist from freshman forward Staci Duncan. With the goal, James has scored both of UCLA's game-winning goals this season. The Bruins will face the San Diego State Aztecs (2-0-0) on Sunday, September 6 at 3 pm on the North Athletic Field on the UCLA campus.
