UCLA head coach Bob Toledo:

"First of all, I'm extremely proud of this team and happy for this team. I told them going into the game that it was like a 15-round fight against the champion, they were defending champions, and to be the champion, you need to knock the champion out."

"I thought we were very physical, and we ran the ball well. I was really impressed with DeShaun. They (Washington) hadn't allowed a rushing touchdown since we last played them, and DeShaun had four today."

"We emphasized our kicking game a lot last week, and I think we did some good things. We had a blocked punt for a touchdown. The only thing I thought was discouraging was that we fumbled three times, two in the red zone, and had a sack in the red zone, and we gave up a touchdown before the half."

"A lot of kids had the opportunity to play today. Our morale is high, and we have good chemistry right now. We just need to continue to work hard and play hard."

(On the game being nationally televised): "We needed to make a statement today, and we did that. I think we showed the country that we have a good football team. A lot of people questioned us during the first four games, but I don't think they'll question us anymore.

(On UCLA's national championship aspiration): "I like our chances, and I like our football team."

"Washington is a great comeback team - we had to win in the fourth quarter."

"I think DeShaun definitely made a statement for his cause."

DeShaun Foster, UCLA Tailback:

"We wanted to come out and get a good start. We were able to run the ball and throw the ball, and the defense came through as usual. We tried to establish the running game, and we just kept pounding and pounding at their defense."

Washington head coach Rick Neuheisel:

"Big congrats to a fine UCLA team. They dominated play. I was pleased at the way our kids tried to hang in there. We were trying to find a way to get back into the game, but we did not play well enough to get back into the contest. It's upsetting because I thought we were ready to play."

"No excuses. We'll go back to Seattle and regroup and try to get better, and hopefully we can play well against Arizona next week."

"Again, I was pleased with the fight, but we have to figure out how we can be successful. We lost, we'll take this setback like men, and we're going to try to get better."

"We knew they (UCLA) were physical, so I was not surprised at how physical they are."

"DeShaun is a good back. I really wasn't surprised about his performance."
