Bruins Host Two Matches This Week . . .
The seventh-ranked UCLA women's soccer team (6-2) rounds out its non-conference schedule this weekend, hosting Utah on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and No. 15 Santa Clara on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Friday will mark UCLA's first-ever meeting with the Utes, who bring a 6-2-1 record into the match. UCLA and Santa Clara (6-2-1) have played on five difference occasions, with the Broncos leading the series 4-0-1. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw last year in Santa Clara.

Doubleheader Days at UCLA
Both Friday and Sunday will be doubleheader days with the UCLA men's soccer team. On Friday, following the women's match, the Bruin men will take on Oregon State at 8:00 p.m. On Sunday, the men will play before the women, facing No. 24 Washington at Noon.

Most Recently . . .
The Bruins played only one match last week, taking on local rival Pepperdine in a non-conference showdown. Senior Kim Devine's goal in the 50th minute of play helped UCLA post a 1-0 decision over the No. 24-ranked Waves last Friday evening at Drake Stadium. Devine's fourth goal of the season came after receiving a through ball from sophomore Bristyn Davis.

UCLA in the Rankings . . .
UCLA moved up two spaces from No. 9 to No. 7 in the latest NSCAA/adidas poll released Tuesday. The Bruins also moved up two spots in the Soccer America poll, going from No. 10 to No. 8. Undefeated Notre Dame is the top-ranked team in both major polls.

Castelanelli Called Up to U-19s . . .
Sophomore defender Mary Castelanelli recently became the third Bruin called up for U.S. National Team duty, as she was brought in to train with the U-19s in preparation for this November's U-19 World Championships in Thailand. Castelanelli, who has not played for UCLA this season while recovering from a back injury, will either make the team or return to UCLA to finish out the season. Stacy Lindstrom and Stephanie Kron are already with the U-19s and are redshirting the season.

Ellis Could Get No. 100 Against Santa Clara . . .
UCLA head coach Jillian Ellis currently owns a 98-20-5 overall record in five-plus seasons at UCLA. With a win on Friday against Utah, Ellis could reach the century mark if the Bruins can defeat No. 15 Santa Clara on Sunday. Her overall coaching record stands at 117-38-5.
