UCLA women's volleyball assistant coach Kim Jagd has been selected as the head coach of the National High Performance camp, it has been announced by USA Volleyball.
A group of 24 athletes has been selected from 20 national tryouts for athletes born after 1990 that have been held throughout the year. This select group will train under Jagd from July 14-24 in Austin, Texas. After one week of training, the group will be divided into two teams to compete in the Youth Division (older age group) of the U.S. High Performance Championships in Austin, July 20-23.
This is the second High Performance head coaching assignment for Jagd, who spent the summer of 2004 in Colorado Springs, Colo., as the head coach in a training only segment for this same age group. 2005 will be her fourth summer working with USA Volleyball's High Performance program. Jagd will also serve as the co-head coach of the SCVA Regional High performance camp for a second consecutive year.
The High Performance program is USA Volleyball's pipeline program to the U.S. National Team.
