UCLA Picked First In Men's Basketball Media Poll

The UCLA Bruins are an overwhelming favorite to finish first in the 2001-02 Pacific-10 Conference Men's basketball race, according to a poll of media members who cover Pac-10 men's basketball.

The poll shows UCLA gathered 24 of 27 possible first-place votes and are tabbed the favorite this season. Defending Pac-10 co-champion STANFORD is picked for second place. USC edges ARIZONA for third place. CALIFORNIA follows in fifth place, while OREGON narrowly edges ARIZONA STATE for sixth place. OREGON STATE gets the nod for eighth, while WASHINGTON STATE and WASHINGTON round out the preseason poll.
