Ida Storm posted a lifetime-best of over one foot in the hammer on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays to highlight several strong performances by Bruin athletes in the meet. The freshman from Sweden finished second overall with a new personal-best of 205-5. She came into the meet with a previous best of 204-2. Her mark continues to rank in the top 10 in the NCAA.
Also on Friday at Mt. SAC, junior Tori Anthony equaled her season-best in the pole vault as she finished second with a vault of 13-7.25. Sophomore Allison Koressel tied for ninth with a clearance of 12-3.50.
Senior Joy Eaton was also second in her event as she ran a lifetime-best of 53.46 in the 400m. Teammate Ashlea McLaughlin ran a season-best of 53.86 as she finished fourth overall. Sophomore Briana Barlow also posted a season-best, running 57.19.
McLaughlin also finished eighth in the 800m as she ran a lifetime-best of 2:08.39.
In the 1500m, freshman Allie Lopez was the top finisher for the Bruins as she placed 50th in a time of 4:32.79. She then came back in the 800m to run a lifetime-best of 2:12.85. Tamara Purpura won her section of the 1500m with a lifetime-best of 4:36.25 and then came back in the 800m to run 2:11.56 for 38th-place. Rachel Butler (4:47.39), Paisley Pettway (4:37.93) and Lauren Hall (4:44.67) all ran lifetime-bests in the 1500m.
