Coach Mora put the team through a morning workout in shorts on Spaulding Field, in the first of two practices on the day. "It was a good practice," said coach. "We got a little bit of work on our first opponent, but mostly situational work.We will be out tonight padded up."
Coach Mora indicated he has been really happy with the play of the defensive line unit throughout the camp. It will be a rotation of eight or nine guys who play aggressive, fast and physical. Over the next two days, the team will focus in on their first opponent,Rice.
Practice on Tuesday evening will be open to the public. The practice is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. This is the last session which will be open to the public. The team will then begin preparations, in earnest, for the first game of the season.
UCLA opens the 2012 football season on the road with a contest against Rice on August 30 (6:30 p.m. CT/4:30 p.m. PT). The Bruins then return home to the Rose Bowl for three straight games --- Nebraska (Sept. 8, 4:30 p.m.), Houston (Sept. 15, 7:30 p.m.) and Oregon State (Sept. 22, time TBA).
