Junior forward Kristina Larsen (Mission Viejo, CA/Mission Viejo HS) of the UCLA women's soccer team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 20-26.
Larsen came off the bench to score both Bruin goals, leading the third-ranked UCLA women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over No. 9 USC before a series record 7,804 fans at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Friday night. Larsen scored the game's first goal in the 27th minute, helping the Bruins take a 1-0 lead into the half. After the Women of Troy tied the match in the 50th minute, Larsen then scored her second goal of the match by heading in a corner kick at the 60:30 mark. That goal, her ninth of the season, ties her for the team lead in goals with Lauren Cheney. Larsen, who ranks second on the team in scoring with 20 points (9g, 2a), also has four game-winning goals on the season. UCLA is still undefeated on the year at 14-0-2 (5-0) Pac-10.
This is Larsen's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor in the last three weeks and the second of her career.
