INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Seven Bruins, seniors Stephanie Christofferson and Andrea Reigel, juniors Lauren Baker, Kathryn Murphy, Ting Quah and Anna Senko and sophomore Noelle Tarazona, qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Reigel was the lone Bruin to qualify in two events, the 200 and 400 Individual Medleys. Two Bruins are in the 200 Butterfly, Christofferson and Tarazona, while Quah is in the 100 Fly. Senko joins Reigel in the 200 IM. In the freestyle, Murphy qualified for the 100 and Baker for the 1650.
The Bruins will also compete in the 200 and 800 Freestyle Relays, as well as the 400 Medley Relay.
In addition, the septet of Bruins are alternates in 10 races: Quah (50 and 100 Free), Senko (400 IM and 200 Fly), Tarazona (200 and 400 IM), Baker (500 Free), Christofferson (100 Fly), Murphy (50 Free) and Reigel (200 Back).
Diving spots will be announced on March 17 following the NCAA Zone Championships. The Bruins are competing in the Zone E Championships (March 14-16) in Colorado Springs, Colo., with senior Michelle Vale, junior Paulina Guzman and sophomore Emma Ivory-Ganja representing UCLA.
