Sophomore forward Sydney Leroux (Vancouver, BC/ Horizon HS) of the UCLA women's soccer team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 9-16.
Leroux led the nation in goals scored through the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, as she scored six in UCLA's wins over Boise State and San Diego State over the weekend. In the Bruins' first-round victory over Boise State on Friday, Leroux tied a school record with four goals, helping UCLA to a 7-1 win over the Broncos. Leroux came back strong on Sunday, scoring two more in a 5-0 second-round victory over San Diego State. For her efforts she was named Top Drawer Soccer's National Player of the Week. Leroux leads the team in scoring with 44 points (21g, 2a)
This is Leroux's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
