WOODLAND, Calif. - Caitlin Dement has captured KAP7 MPSF Player of the Week acclaim for the week of Feb. 27-March 4, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) announced Monday. Dement totaled 11 saves in goal for the Bruins on Saturday in their 6-5 win at USC.

Dement, a senior goalkeeper from Chino, Calif., has posted a 4.79 goals against average, the third-lowest mark among MPSF goalkeepers.

In Saturday's 6-5 win at USC, Dement helped UCLA limit the Women of Troy to one goal in the second half. The Bruins held USC scoreless in the fourth quarter, scoring twice in that period to overcome a 5-4 deficit.

Dement was honored as the MPSF Player of the Week one week after teammate KK Clark earned the weekly accolade for the second time this season.

UCLA, ranked No. 1 in the nation, returns to action at home against San Jose State on Saturday, March 10. Game time at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center is 1 p.m.
