Nov. 13, 2007
Senior forward Danesha Adams (Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights HS) of the UCLA women's soccer team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 5-11.
Adams, who was also named to this week's Soccer Buzz Team of the Week, scored three goals in two UCLA wins last week, helping the top-ranked Bruins record wins over Washington State and Washington in the final weekend of the regular season. Adams, who ranks second on the team in scoring with 30 points (11g, 8a), scored the Bruins' second goal in a 2-0 victory over Washington State on Friday as UCLA clinched a record fifth-straight Pac-10 Championship with that victory. Adams came back on Sunday to score two more goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-0 win over Washington as the Bruins became the first Pac-10 team since Stanford in 2002 to go undefeated in league play. Adams also moved within one game-winning goal of tying the UCLA career record held by Traci Arkenberg (26 from 1994-97).
This is Adams' first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and school-record tying eighth of her career.
