LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's soccer team has been named one of the four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championships beginning this week at college campuses throughout the country. The Bruins will host Cal State Fullerton, Oklahoma State and San Diego in the first and second rounds this weekend at Drake Stadium.
UCLA (16-1-2) opens up the tournament with a first-round match against Cal State Fullerton (12-7-2) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The other first-round game that day pits San Diego (15-2-3) against Oklahoma State (13-5-3) at 8:00 p.m. Friday's winners will meet in the second round on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
UCLA and Cal State Fullerton each earned automatic bids to the tournament for winning their respective conferences. San Diego and Oklahoma State were at-large selections. The three other No. 1 seeds in the tournament are North Carolina, Stanford and Penn State. The Bruins are looking to make their fifth straight appearance in the NCAA College Cup, hosted this year in College Station, Texas.
Tickets for the first and second rounds are $9 for adults and $7 for youth/students.
