2016 NFL Draft
UCLA'S Nelson Rosario Nominated for Geico Play of the Year

Oct. 4, 2011

UCLA's senior wide receiver Nelson Rosario's acrobatic catch against Houston on Sept. 3 is nominated for the GEICO Play of the Year. Each week, fans vote for the GEICO Play of the Year and the winner will be announced on GEICO Best of College Football 2011 on CBS Nov. 25 at 1:30 p.m. ET.

In addition to recognizing the season's top plays, the one-hour CBS special relives the season's greatest moments, players and traditions. The show also marks the culmination of the GEICO Mobile Marketing Tour, an interactive fan experience that visits 30 marquee games throughout the football season.

Each week for nine weeks, four incredible college football plays will be nominated as the Play of the Year on the GEICO Best of College Football Facebook page (facebook.com/BestofCollegeFootball). A panel of college football experts will evaluate the nine fan favorites and name the 2011 GEICO Play of the Year.

At the start of the second half, quarterback Richard Brehaut threw a deep ball into double-coverage for Rosario. The 6-foot-5-inch Rosario positioned himself perfectly, jumped for the ball and somehow pinned it against the back of a Houston defender right before they both fell to the ground. The miraculous 54-yard catch is competing against three other plays from week four, including a punt-return touchdown from Alabama's Marquis Maze, a one-handed catch from Georgia Tech's Stephen Hill and a punt-return touchdown from Mississippi State's Chad Bumphis.
