Junior outside hitter Bojana Todorovic (Irvine, CA/University HS) of the UCLA women's volleyball team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 27-Oct. 3.
Todorovic had an historic hitting match on Sunday and finished the week with an average of 3.67 kills per set, a .514 hitting percentage and 3.50 digs per set, as the second-ranked Bruins produced a pair of sweeps over Utah and Colorado.
Against the Buffaloes on Sunday, Todorovic had 12 kills and no errors in 16 attempts to produce a career-best .750 hitting percentage. She added 12 digs for her second double-double of the season and the 11th of her career. The .750 hitting percentage tied for the 15th-best all-time output by a Bruin with a minimum of 10 attacks, and the highest percentage for a Bruin since 2006. In the second set, Todorovic had seven of her 12 kills, with no errors in eight attempts. She added two more in the first and three to go along with six digs in the third set. Todorovic, who has played mostly in the backrow this season, added two blocks.
On Friday at Utah, Todorovic was a dig shy of a double-double, posting 10 kills (.333 hitting percentage) and nine digs. She had four kills and no hitting errors in eight swings with four digs in the first set, while adding three kills in the second and three more in the third on no errors and six attempts with four digs.
Todorovic is averaging only 1.10 kills per set this season, but is hitting .277 and is fifth on the team with 2.24 digs per set and first with 23 aces.
This is Todorovic's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
