Nov. 29, 2007

UCLA senior center Chris Joseph has been named to the first-team of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America football team as selected by the College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America committee.

Joseph was also selected to the first team in 2006, making him UCLA's first two-time first-team Academic All-America selection since wide receiver Cormac Carney in 1981 and 1982.

Joseph, who has a cumulative 3.95 grade point average in a Geography major, has started all 11 games this season after starting all 13 a year ago at offensive guard. He has been selected first-team Academic All-District VIII in each of the past three seasons.
