Senior forward Sydney Leroux (Vancouver, BC/Horizon HS) of the UCLA women's soccer team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Aug. 22-28.
Leroux, the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Player of the Week, was named the tournament MVP at the First Tennessee Lady Vol Classic over the weekend after helping the Bruins to a pair of victories over SEC opponents. Against host Tennessee on Friday, Leroux scored the game-winning goal in the 58th minute to help UCLA to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory. She then helped the team to a upset over No. 8 Florida on Sunday, scoring an insurance goal in the 72nd minute in the team's 2-0 win. Leroux, who has scored in all three of the team's victories this season, leads the Bruins in scoring with six points (3g, 0a).
This is Leroux's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and fourth of her career.
