Senior Dicey McGraw was named to the All-Pacific Region Honorable Mention Team, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Tuesday. It is the first career All-Region award for McGraw.
McGraw led the Bruins this season and ranked eighth among all Pac-10 players in kills per set at 3.91, also posting a career-best .258 hitting percentage. She added 1.32 digs per set, 13 aces and 0.39 blocks per set.
The senior outside hitter had 40 kills in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament last weekend, posting 22 against American and 18 versus Texas. The 22 kills marked the fifth time in her career and the fourth time this season that she surpassed the 20-kill total.
McGraw finished the season with nine straight double-figure kills matches and 22 in her final 23 contests. She had 28 double-figure kills matches in 2010 to give her 77 for her career. McGraw notched a personal-best 24 kills at California on Nov. 6 and at Oregon on Nov. 19. She added 23 kills against Arizona on Nov. 13.
The senior had five double-doubles this year (Arizona State, Oct. 16; UC Irvine, Sept. 18; Cal State Northridge, Sept. 14; Saint Mary's, Sept. 3; Hawai'i, Aug. 29) to give her 16 for her career. She became the 25th Bruin to achieve 1,000 career kills on Sept. 9 at CSU Bakersfield and finished her time as a Bruin with 1,365, which ties her for 14th in UCLA history.
McGraw was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team last Tuesday for the first time in her career after earning honorable mention accolades as a junior. Off the court, she also earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention accolades three times.
McGraw's award is the 50th AVCA All-Region mention in UCLA history.
