Bruins Going for Seventh Straight Pac-10 Championship
UCLA, which opens Pac-10 play against Arizona this Friday, is looking to claim the program's seventh straight conference championship in 2009. The Bruins have dominated the Pac-10 in recent years, winning the league title every year from 2003-08. UCLA's Pac-10 record over the six-year span is an impressive 47-7. The Bruins, who have gone undefeated in league play the last two seasons, have only lost one Pac-10 match in the last four years.

Bruins Round Out Non-Conference Play With Victory over Pepperdine
UCLA extended its winning streak to nine last Friday, posting a 2-0 victory over Pepperdine in the Bruins' final non-conference match of the regular season. Sydney Leroux punched in her team-leading 11th goal of the season on a penalty kick in the seventh minute to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. That score remained for nearly the entire match, as the Bruins didn't score again until 90th minute on a strike from freshman Chelsea Cline. UCLA goalkeeper Chante' Sandiford made three saves on the day, including a stop on a Pepperdine penalty kick in the 64th minute. The Bruins upped their record to 12-2-1 all time against the Waves.
