NCAA Discus Champion to Enroll at UCLA

Head men's track and field coach Mike Maynard has announced that the reigning NCAA discus champion, Julian Wruck, will enroll at UCLA for the winter quarter.

Wruck, a native of Brisbane, Australia earned the bronze medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Moncton, Canada. He ranks second in his native country and has a personal best of 208-0.

The Aussie will have to sit out the 2012 season due to NCAA transfer/residency requirements, but will still compete unattached as he prepares to qualify for Australia's Olympic team. Wruck will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the upcoming season and will be a redshirt junior in 2013.
