The sixth-ranked Bruins (7-1, 1-0 Pac-12) host Cal State Northridge (6-4) on Monday at 7 p.m. at Collins Court in the John Wooden Center before heading to the Pacific Northwest to face Washington State (8-2, 0-0) and #4 Washington (8-0, 0-0) on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Bruins play their first Pac-12 home matches of the season next week, hosting second-ranked Stanford on Friday, Sept. 23 and top-ranked California on Saturday, Sept. 24. Both matches start at 7 p.m. On Sept. 23, UCLA will honor the 1991 NCAA Championship squad on the 20th anniversary of them winning the program's last national title. Despite suffering their first loss of the season last Wednesday at Pepperdine, the Bruins countered that with a sweep at USC on Friday and moved up two spots to sixth in this week's AVCA Top 25 Coaches poll. UCLA earned 36 more points and are one of six Pac-12 teams ranked in the Top 16. UCLA was eighth in last week's Volleyball Magazine rankings, with the newest poll coming out on Tuesday. In the Pac-12 preseason coaches poll, the Bruins were fifth with 90 points.

Friday's victory at USC marked the first time since Oct. 2, 1993 that UCLA swept its cross-town rival on the road ... the Bruins' 6-0 start was their best since 2006, the last year they advanced to the NCAA National Semifinals ... sophomore Kelly Reeves has three straight matches with double figures in digs, giving her four for the season and 16 for her career. She is second on the team with 2.50 digs per set ... junior Tabi Love ranks second on the team with 2.46 kills and 2.92 points per set. She had her third double-figure kills match of the season with 14 at Pepperdine last Wednesday ... senior Lauren Van Orden recorded her third double-double of the year and 12th as a Bruin with season bests in assists (51) and digs (13) at Pepperdine. She is third on the team with 2.48 digs per set ... senior Lainey Gera leads the Bruins with 4.96 digs per set and has seven double-figure digs contests this season (68 career) and three matches with 20-plus digs (30 career). She is second all-time in UCLA history in digs with 1,523 ... junior Bojana Todorovic tied a school record with eight service aces on Aug. 27 against Cal State Fullerton and has 22 aces in her first eight matches to lead all Bruins and Pac-12 players. Todorovic, who is the only Bruin to play in all 29 sets this season, had only 25 aces last year. The eight aces tied the mark set by Liz Masakayan (Oct. 19, 1983 vs. San Diego State) and also set a school record for aces in a three-set match. The previous record of seven was held by Elaine Youngs (Nov. 13, 1992 vs. Colorado) ... junior Rachael Kidder is first on the team with 4.08 kills and 4.73 points per set. She has six double-figure kills matches this season (five in a row) and 26 for her career, and was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after her efforts in Hawai'i two weekends ago ... sophomore Mariana Aquino leads the Bruins with 1.52 blocks per set. She had seven at Pepperdine, the eighth time in her career she has posted at least five roofs in a match ... freshman Zoë Nightingale has played in all eight matches this season. She is averaging 1.36 kills and 0.55 blocks per set after posting seven kills and two blocks at USC ... all 18 Bruins on the roster have appeared in at least one match this season.

The Matadors enter Monday's match at 6-4, having gone 2-1 last weekend at the UNLV Invitational. Northridge won both its contests last weekend in five sets against Eastern Washington on Friday and the host Rebels on Saturday, while losing to Southern Utah in four. The Matadors have lost to a pair of Pac-12 teams this season, getting swept at Utah (Aug. 27) and at home against USC (Sept. 6). Northridge is hitting .183 as a team, averaging 12.47 kills, 1.26 aces, 15.42 digs and 2.45 blocks per set. Sophomore Mahina Haina leads the team with 3.47 kps, with four others (freshman Casey Hinger, 2.14; sophomore Natalie Allen, 2.13; sophomore Britney Graff, 2.09; and senior Una Siljegovic, 2.06) also averaging over 2.00 kps. Sophomore Sydney Gedryn handles the setting duties and is posting 10.03 assists per set. Junior Cindy Ortiz leads the squad with 4.26 dps and Allen is second with 3.45, while at the net, sophomore Nicole Jarvis (1.44), freshman Sam Kaul (1.04) and Gedryn (1.00) each average over a block per set. Jeff Stork is in his 10th year at Northridge and holds a 113-159 record and a 135-165 career mark. The Bruins have won 17 straight matchups with the Matadors and lead the all-time series 34-5. UCLA won in four sets at Northridge last Sept. 14 (22-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-14). Kelly Reeves had a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Lainey Gera added 17 digs. The Bruins are 9-1 all-time at home against the Matadors, with Northridge' most recent win in the series coming on Oct. 15, 1975 in Westwood (2-1).

The Cougars won their own tournament last weekend, beating Manhattan in three, Sam Houston State in four and San Francisco in five to improve to 8-2 on the season. Friday's matchup with the Bruins will mark Washington State's first contest against a ranked team this year. The Cougars are hitting .232 as a team, averaging 12.05 kills, 1.66 aces, 12.63 digs and 1.93 blocks per set. Senior Meagan Ganzer is averaging nearly half of the team's kills, posting 5.07 kps. Junior Rachel Todorovich is second with 2.39 kps. Sophomore Camryn Irwin quarterbacks the offense and is averaging 9.95 assists per set. Defensively, freshman Shawna Lum is first on the team with 3.54 dps, while Irwin is second at 2.20. At the net, sophomore Marcelina Glab tops the squad with 0.88 bps. Jen Greeny is in her first season as the head coach of her alma mater.

The Bruins lead the all-time series with the Cougars 43-7 and have won 16 matches in a row and 42 of the last 45 sets. UCLA is 20-5 in Pullman, having won eight straight and the last seven by sweeps. Last Oct. 1 at Washington State, the Bruins claimed a 25-17, 25-16, 25-17 victory. Bojana Todorovic had 11 kills and Lainey Gera added 18 digs. UCLA had another sweep at home on Oct. 31, winning 25-10, 25-12, 25-14. Rachael Kidder had 14 kills and Kelly Reeves posted 10 digs. Gera has averaged 3.95 digs per set in her six matches against the Cougars, while Todorovic has posted 3.15 dps in her four contests. Washington State's last win against UCLA was a five-set triumph at home on Oct. 25, 2002.

The Huskies have won their first eight matches of the season and have dropped only one set at #22 Long Beach State on Aug. 27. Washington, which hosts USC on Friday, is averaging 13.48 kills, 2.16 aces, 12.08 digs and 3.16 blocks per set, hitting .333 as a team. Four players are averaging at least 2.00 kps, led by freshman Krista Vansant's 3.64 kps. Junior Kylin Munoz (3.17), senior Bianca Rowland (2.04) and freshman Summer Ross (2.00) are also at that mark. Senior Evan Sanders is the setter and is averaging 10.38 assists per set, while placing second with 2.05 dps. Sophomore Jenna Orlandini is first with 3.68 dps. At the net, Rowland is first with 1.42 bps and senior Lauren Barfield is second at 1.29 bps. Jim McLaughlin is in his 11th year at Washington and has a record of 253-69 at UW and a 477-187 in 21-plus seasons as a head coach.

The Bruins snapped an eight-match losing streak to the Huskies with a five-set victory at Pauley Pavilion on Oct. 29, 2010 (23-25, 30-28, 13-25, 25-22, 15-12). Rachael Kidder had 24 kills, while Lainey Gera added 20 digs. Washington posted its eighth-straight home victory in the series on Oct. 2 (25-20, 26-24, 25-17). Gera (13), Kelly Reeves (10) and Lauren Van Orden (10) each had double figures in digs in a losing effort. The Bruins lead the all-time series 41-18 and are 19-12 in Seattle. But their last victory at Washington was a five-set triumph on Oct. 3, 2003.
