Two local throwers have signed National Letters-of-Intent to join the women's track and field team in the Fall. Joining the Bruin recruiting class are Katie Laich of Esperanza HS and Alexa Berg of Notre Dame HS.
Laich was a California State Meet participant in the discus, where she finished 13th overall. She has best marks of 139-8 in the discus and 35-2 in the shot put. She also has been training in the hammer with Citrus College coach Lloyd Higgins, and has a best mark of 122-0 in that event.
Berg has best marks of 42-feet in the shot put and 130-feet in the discus.
The duo joins a strong recruiting class that features the National Record Holders in the pole vault (Tori Anthony) and the triple jump (Ke'Nyia Richardson).
Berg and Laich round out the spring recruiting class which features Lizzie Jewson (distance), Ashlea McLaughlin (sprints) and Lindsay Rowe (sprints/hurdles).
The Fall signing class was comprised of Tori Anthony (pole Vault), Ke'Nyia Richardson (hurdles/jumps), Shannon Murakami (distances), Joy Eaton (sprints), Aubree Stark (pole vault) and Dayna Hill (jumps).
