The Bruins (3-1, 0-1) play their first Pac-12 Conference road game of the season at Colorado (1-3, 1-0) on Saturday, September 29 in Boulder, CO. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. MT/ 3:00 p.m. PT and the game will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks with Ted Robinson and Adam Archuleta in the booth and Yogi Roth on the sidelines. The Bruin IMG Radio Network (Chris Roberts, Matt Stevens and Wayne Cook) will radio broadcast the contest on 1150am in the Los Angeles area. The game will also be aired nationally on SIRIUS (Ch. 139).
The Bruins lead the series 5-2 and captured the last meeting, scoring a 45-6 win, a year ago, in the Rose Bowl. The Bruins scored on their first three possessions of that contest and jumped out to 21-0 lead. A 21-point fourth quarter made the final score 45-6. Johnathan Franklin ran for 162 yards. Quarterback Kevin Prince passed for 225 yards and four touchdowns. The Bruins became bowl eligible with last season's win over CU.
The two teams last did battle in Boulder, CO in the 2003 season. Colorado came away with a 16-14 victory. CU scored the winning touchdown in the final two minutes of the contest. Quarterback Drew Olson came off the bench, following an injury to Matt Moore, to complete 13 of 23 passing attempts for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Marcedes Lewis made six receptions for 96 yards and one touchdown.
UCLA has not won a game in Boulder since the 1984 season. Freshmen running backs James Primus and Gaston Green combined for 169 yards on the ground in a 33-16 victory. Quarterback Matt Stevens threw for 193 yards and one touchdown. John Lee booted four field goals on the day and became UCLA's career scoring leader after converting an extra point in the fourth quarter.
**RB Johnathan Franklin ranks fourth in the nation in rushing (146.50/g) after putting together three straight 100-yard rushing games, including two season-opening 200-yard plus efforts against Rice (214) and Nebraska (217)...he ranks seventh in the nation in all-purpose yardage (180.75)

A school-record 17 true freshmen played for the Bruins in 1977. Thirteen played in 1975, 12 in 1978, 1980 and 2004 and 10 played in 1979. In recent years, nine played in 2005, eight in 2006, two in 2007 and 11 in 2008. UCLA played 10 freshmen in 2009. The Bruins played 10 freshmen in 2010. Tight end Raymond Nelson (no longer on the roster) was the lone first-year player to see action in 2011.
