UCLA senior forward Zakiya Bywaters was named the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 10-16.
Bywaters, a senior from Las Vegas, recorded four goals on seven shots and added an assist in shutout victories over Princeton and No. 18 Pepperdine as the Bruins remained undefeated on the year at 7-0-1. Bywaters notched a pair of goals an and assist less than five minutes apart in the first half of Friday's 7-0 win over Princeton. On Sunday, she scored a goal in each half, netting the game-winner at 10:44 and adding an insurance goal at 52:34. Bywaters has already logged career-highs in points (14) and goals (6) this season, and she leads Bruins in both categories.
Stanford goalkeeper Aly Gleason earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
This is the first weekly honor for Bywaters, who is UCLA's second Player of the Week recipient of the season and 31st all-time.
UCLA kicks off its conference slate at home against Washington State on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
