Ojai, Calif. - A pair of UCLA freshmen will be going for singles titles at the Pac-10 Championships on Sunday, as Eugen Brazdil and Carling Seguso have each advanced to the finals of their respective Invitational draws at the 109th Ojai Valley Championships.
Brazdil actually has the chance to win two titles on Sunday, as he is also in the main draw doubles final with partner Michael Look. The Bruin duo defeated USC's Abdullah Magdas/Daniel Nguyen, 8-3 in Saturday's semifinals. They will meet Stanford's Bradley Klahn/Ryan Thacher at 12:30 p.m.
Prior to Sunday's main draw doubles final, Brazdil will face Nguyen in the championship match of the Invitational singles draw at 9:30 a.m. Brazdil upset top-seeded Greg Hirshman of Stanford, 7-6(4), 6-4 in the semifinals.
On the women's side, Seguso booked a spot in the Invitational final following a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Washington's Aleksandra Malovic. Awaiting her on Sunday will be Cal's Marion Ravelojaona, who defeated Bruin junior Stephanie Wetmore, 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals. That final will begin at 8:00 a.m.
