For the second consecutive week, junior outside hitter Rachael Kidder (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark HS) of the UCLA women's volleyball team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 12-18.
Kidder was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player after leading ninth-seeded UCLA to the National Championship in a 3-1 victory over third-seeded Illinois. Kidder had 20 kills and eight digs in the Championship match, including her 1,000th career kill. In the semifinal sweep over Florida State, she totaled 21 kills and 12 digs while hitting .462 to post her eighth double-double of the season and 10th of her career.
The NCAA championship was the fourth for UCLA women's volleyball and the 108th overall for the university.
This is Kidder's fourth UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and seventh of her career.
