Four of the five Bruins competed in Day One of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday in Fayetteville, AR. Kylie Price was the Bruins' top finisher in today's action, as she took fourth place in the women's long jump event (6.35m/20-10). Price set a personal best with today's performance.
Also competing for the Bruins were pole vaulter Mike Woepse, heptathlete Marcus Nilsson and sprinter Brea Buchanan. Nilsson started the day for the Bruins in Fayetteville Friday, and currently finds himself in 16th place (2,883 points) through four of seven events. Woepse finished seventh in the men's pole vault final, posting a best mark of 5.50m/18-0.5.
Finally, sophomore Brea Buchanan rounded the day for the Bruins with a fantastic performance in the women's 60m hurdles preliminaries. Buchanan ran her best race of the indoor season, qualifying fifth in a time of 8.12. She was seeded 12th headed into this weekend.
Day Two will feature the women's pole vault as well as the women's 60m hurdles final, beginning at 3:30pm PT and 4:20pm PT, respectively.
