UCLA-USC RIVALRY RENEWS AT GALEN CENTER ON FRIDAY
The 11th-ranked Bruins (10-1), winners of eight in a row, travel across town to take on undefeated and sixth-ranked USC (11-0) on Friday at the Galen Center at 7 p.m. Gametracker and live audio will be available for the Pac-10 opener at UCLABruins.com. In addition, the match will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net on a tape-delay basis with Paul Sunderland and former Bruin Holly McPeak at the call. The match will be aired twice this weekend on FSN Prime Ticket on Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Bruins travel to the Washington schools next weekend, facing Washington State on Friday, Oct. 1 and seventh-ranked Washington on Saturday, Oct. 2. Both matches start at 7 p.m. and Gametracker will be available at UCLABruins.com.

BRUINS IN THE POLLS
UCLA moved up two spots to 11th in the latest AVCA Top 25 Coaches poll. The Bruins earned 92 more points in the rankings, the fourth straight week they have earned additional points. The Bruins also moved up three spots to 11th in this week's Volleyball Magazine Top 20 poll, receiving 13 more points. UCLA was selected seventh in the Pac-10 preseason coaches poll, earning 38 points.

All remaining home contests, in addition to Friday's road match at USC, will be broadcast live on UCLABruins.com. Gametracker and/or live stats will also be available for all home matches and most road contests.

WE'RE STILL STREAKING!
With an eight-match winning streak, the Bruins are continuing a trend from the past three seasons. UCLA started the last three years at 2-1 and followed that up with at least seven straight victories. The Bruins won seven in a row last year, eight straight in 2008 and 11 consecutive in 2007.

NEWS AND NOTES
The Bruins have yet to lose a third set this season, winning all 11 sets after the intermission ... Katie Camp and Lainey Gera lead all Pac-10 players in blocks and digs per set, respectively. Camp is at 1.44 bps, while Gera, who is 12 digs shy of 1,000 for her career, has 4.57 dps. Camp is also seventh with a .405 hitting percentage ... Lauren Van Orden is fifth among conference players with 10.89 assists per set ... Dicey McGraw is tied for eighth in kills per set (3.82) and 10th in points per set (4.38).

SCOUTING THE USC TROJANS
The Trojans are one of six ranked teams that are undefeated and swept UC Irvine on Tuesday in a tuneup for Friday's match. Nine of USC's 11 victories have been sweeps. The Trojans also defeated then-#4 Hawai'i in Honolulu in five sets on Sept. 5. USC is hitting .312 and averaging 14.47 kills, 1.92 aces, 14.67 digs and 2.40 blocks per set. Junior outside hitter Alex Jupiter leads the team with 4.10 kps and 16 aces and is second with 2.50 dps. Junior middle blocker Lauren Williams is hitting a team-best .526 and also leads the squad with 0.97 bps, while placing third with 2.76 kps. Freshman outside Falyn Fonoimoana is second with 2.93 kps and sophomore outside Katie Fuller is fourth with 2.47 kps. Freshman libero Natalie Hagglund is tops in dps at 3.61, while junior Kendall Bateman is the quarterback on the floor with 12.22 assists per set. Mick Haley is in his 10th year at USC and holds a record of 237-54 with the Trojans. He is 1,010-242-1 in 33-plus seasons of coaching.

THE SERIES: BRUINS VS. TROJANS
The Bruins swept the season series with the Trojans last year and hold a 56-49 all-time advantage. In the match at Pauley Pavilion on Oct. 9, Dicey McGraw posted 12 kills, while Lainey Gera had 23 digs in the 27-25, 25-20, 25-22 sweep. On Nov. 6 at the Galen Center, McGraw recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs, while Gera (23) and Bojana Todorovic (15) were each in double figures in digs. The Bruins won in five sets, 25-17, 14-25, 25-16, 17-25, 15-12. UCLA is 20-18 all-time at USC, with the Trojans' last victory coming on Sept. 26, 2008 in five sets. The last time the Bruins won two straight at USC was 1995 and 1996, while UCLA has not claimed four in a row overall against the Trojans since a 14-match winning streak from 1988-94.
