WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Sophomore Kelly Reeves has been named the Pac-12 Conference's Defensive Player of the Week, while Zoë Nightingale has earned Freshman Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league on Monday. The duo helped the Bruins to wins over #2 Stanford and #1 California last weekend.

This season marks the first in which the conference has awarded Offensive, Defensive and Freshman Player of the Week accolades. It is the first weekly honors for both Reeves and Nightingale and the third for the Bruins this season. Junior Rachael Kidder was named Offensive POW on Sept. 5 and UCLA now has 58 all-time weekly conference recognitions. The Bruins are also the first team this season to earn all three awards.

Reeves had a pair of double-doubles, recording a new career high with 19 digs against the Cardinal and adding 14 digs versus the Golden Bears. On Friday, she added 17 kills, swinging at a .300 hitting percentage and tallying a block for 17.5 points. Reeves had four digs in both the first and second sets and seven in the fourth. Offensively, she produced nine of her 17 kills in the third set with no errors in 15 attempts.

Against Cal on Saturday, Reeves posted 14 kills to go along with her 14 digs, hitting .444 with only two errors in 27 swings. She spread out her digs and kills evenly throughout the four sets, notching three digs and three kills in the first, four digs and four kills in the second, four digs and five kills in the third and three digs and two kills in the fourth.

Reeves, who has seven double-figure digs matches this season and four double-figure kills contests, is second on the team with 2.77 digs per set and 2.43 kills per set.

Nightingale had a career-high seven blocks against California, adding six kills and no errors in 11 attempts for a .545 hitting percentage.

Nightingale had three of her blocks in the opening set against the Golden Bears, including two solo roofs. She added two more blocks in the second and one apiece in the third and fourth. Nightingale posted two kills in the third and three in the fourth.

A night earlier in a win over Stanford, Nightingale notched two kills, three digs and two blocks.

Nightingale is averaging 1.24 kills and 0.64 blocks per set this season.

The Bruins, who climbed to second in this week's AVCA Top 25 poll, will travel to the two newest Pac-12 teams this weekend, taking on Utah on Friday at 6 p.m. PT and Colorado on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT.
